A Return to Chicago's Roots - Mass Timber Building Tour
1036 W Fulton Market, Chicago
Join the Technical Issues Knowledge Community to tour 1036 W Fulton
Nestled along the streets of the Fulton Market District, 1036 W Fulton completed in early 2020 (Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture, Architect / Summit Design + Build, Contractor), features 5-stories of office space and first floor retail. As the first multi-story mass timber building in the City of Chicago in over 75 years, 1036 W. Fulton serves as an example across the AEC community on how to successfully accomplish a heavy timber building. The building also acts as a 'proof of concept,' a necessary and important link, bringing more and larger timber projects to the City of Chicago. You are invited to tour the project and then join Summit Design + Build on the rooftop.
