Bauhaus Legacy? Demystifying the Bauhaus in Chicago and Beyond

SAIC, LeRoy Neiman Center Ground Floor, 37 South Wabash Avenue, Chicago

Is the legacy of the Bauhaus of any importance to the world of the 21st century, or are we hanging on to a golden ideal that never was what it was made out to be? In this SAIC event, moderated by SAIC associate professor Michael Golec, the panel will primarily engage with the audience in casting a discerning look at the legacy of the Bauhaus and its contemporary viability. Speakers: Berlin/Brooklyn architect Gunnar Green, Chicago designer/educator Norman Teague, and designer/SAIC assistant professor Ilona Gaynor.
