Drama Is In the Details

Online

As scenic design and interior architecture share overlaps in the creative and technical spheres, the Interior Architecture Knowledge Community of AIA Chicago is hosting a panel conversation with scenic designers about their work, inspirations, and construction successes in creating environments for theatre.

Speakers:

  • John Culbert, MFA, Scenic & Lighting Designer and Recently Retired Dean of The Theater School of DePaul University
  • Alan Donahue, Scenic Designer, United Scenic Artists (USA) Local 829
  • Courtney O'Neill, Scenic Designer, Courtney O'Neill Scenic Design
  • Moderated by Raquel Guzman Geara, RA, LEED GA, Architect at SmithGroup
  • Contributor Meghan Brown, Assoc. AIA, USA 829, ADG 800, Designer at Occupi Design

In this virtual event, scenic designers will share images of several projects and will speak in greater detail about one of their projects in particular. Following the conversation we’ll open the floor to Q&A with program participants.
