Architects and facilities who have designed and built healthcare projects in the State of Illinois are certainly familiar with the Illinois Department of Public Health and its role in enforcing standards for licensure of hospitals, ambulatory surgery and long-term care facilities. Henry Kowalenko, Division Chief for the Division of Life Safety and Construction in the Illinois Department of Public Health, will review the very latest in standards and requirements for designing, documenting and constructing a healthcare facility in Illinois and submitting it for review. Mr. Kowalenko will also discuss IDPH’s role and processes for reviews conducted for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
