Andrea Love, AIA, Payette (Boston)
As a Principal and Director of Building Science at Payette, Andrea’s interests are in pushing the performance and minimizing the environmental impact of her projects. She also enjoys building the firm’s knowledge and intuition about sustainability through research endeavors and project explorations. Andrea works across projects to bring rigor to the performance of projects. She integrates performance modeling tools into Payette’s design process at the very beginning to inform and push designs. Additionally, she leads a number of internal research projects and the firm’s efforts on the AIA 2030 Commitment. Andrea received a Master of Science in Architecture Studies in Building Technology from MIT where she teaches a class on building envelope performance. She serves on the Board of Directors for the USGBC Massachusetts chapter, as well as the national USGBC Chapter Steering Committee and Education Steering Committee.
Stephanie Horowitz, AIA, CPHC, ZeroEnergy Design (Boston)
As Managing Director of ZeroEnergy Design, Stephanie orchestrates projects that range from net-zero energy workspaces to Passive House certified homes. She believes that great design should enhance the value of each place, be long-lasting, and make optimal utility of both space and energy. Recently awarded Boston Home Magazine's Best Sustainable Architect, her work has garnered a design award from the Boston Society of Architects as well as Citation for Sustainable Design. Her designs have appeared in notable publications such as Architectural Record, Design New England, New England Home and The New York Times. In addition to her role at ZED, Stephanie served on the Massachusetts Design Selection Board as the AIA Massachusetts representative and is a founding board member and president of Passive House Massachusetts. She holds a BArch from Cornell University.
