Parklets, street art, participatory performances - these interventions and others, have become known as tactical urbanism: low cost and easily deployable placemaking solutions that reinvigorate places and spaces. Come experience success stories and fresh ideas at the Tactical Urbanism Slam, co-hosted by Congress for New Urbanism, Illinois chapter, and the Regional & Urban Design KC of AIA Chicago at the Center for Neighborhood Technology.
Eight presenters will give highly visual PechaKucha presentations about tactical urbanism projects around the region. PechaKucha is a fast-paced, visually oriented format comprised of 20 slides at 20 seconds each. Please join us for a cross-disciplinary conversation that will be the beginning of a tactical urbanism community in Chicago. Refreshments provided.

"Powered by PechaKucha" events are one-off events separate from regular city-based PechaKucha Nights They are usually held as part of festivals and conferences but can also be stand-alone events. "Powered by PechaKucha" events use the PechaKucha 20 images x 20 seconds format.
