Tour: The Caledonian House for Memory Care
Caledonian House, 2800 Des Plaines Avenue, North Riverside, IL 60546
The Caledonian House is a recently constructed, small-house memory care community. It is a two-story building organized into two households of ten residents per floor. Following the small house concept, each household includes private resident rooms that open onto a great room, dining area, and kitchen. The caregivers are cross-trained to provide all-encompassing care and assistance. This tour will include a discussion with the administrator and director of the community as well as a tour through the building which was designed and built by Ganther Construction/Architecture (Oshkosh, WI).
Registration is limited to 24 people since this is an occupied community.
Caledonian House is a new venture of the Scottish Home which opened in 1910. The residences are operated by the Illinois Saint Andrew Society which was founded in 1845.
