Alzira Maldonado Protsishin, AIA, NCARB, a Design Architect at EXP, has been selected as the recipient of the 2021 Dubin Family Young Architect Award.
Alzira, a graduate of University of Los Andes in Colombia and the Illinois Institute of Technology, has built a career focusing on civic & transportation-related projects, including the award-winning Washington/Wabash CTA Station & the CTA 95th/Dan Ryan Terminal Station, both in Chicago. Her projects have been published in the Chicago Tribune, AIA Chicago Architect Magazine, Interior Design Magazine, and Chicago Curbed.
She has volunteered countless hours to the profession through numerous organizations, including Arquitina, where she serves as a mentor, inspiring and encouraging other female, Latina architects to pursue licensure. She has also volunteered at Arquitectos, WING Mentorship Program, & AIA Chicago Bridge.
