03.22.2022
Thirteen AIA Chicago Members, including AIA Chicago Executive Director Jen Masengarb, Assoc. AIA, have been named to Newcity Design 50 2022.
Design 50 2022 celebrates the forces behind the scenes in terms of power and influence in Chicago's design scene - those who are changing our world for better. AIA Chicago is proud to announce that thirteen members, Including Executive Director Jen Masengarb, Assoc. AIA, have been named as recipients within this cohort.
"Over the past two years, we’ve witnessed how architecture and urban design decisions play a critical role in the health (or sickness), resiliency (or vulnerability), and growth (or inequity) of our communities." Masengarb told Newcity.
"Design is not neutral. There are many challenges ahead in 2022 as we continue to address inequality, injustice, a pandemic recovery, economic growth, mental health, and a changing climate. I am inspired both by the thoughtful design work and hard conversations on these topics emerging from this architectural community. Architects are hard-wired as collaborators and creative problem solvers – two things vital in working toward equitable and sustainable places and spaces."
