3 architects. 3 ARE strategies. ARE Live and In-Person.

1871 at Merchandise Mart, #1212, Chicago

Join Black Spectacles for a live, in-person episode of “ARE Live” featuring three young architects who are each taking a different approach to the ARE. The event will take place at 1871 - Chicago's center for technology and entrepreneurship. Come have a beer with us, hear their stories, and figure out which strategy is best for you.

Join us in person or online for this live broadcast as Mike Newman and Marc Teer talk with three young architects who are each taking a different approach to the ARE. Whether you are testing under ARE 4.0, planning to start, or still unsure about the transition to ARE 5.0, we've got you covered. Hear firsthand about the options you have when it comes to taking the exam, the benefits of taking one version over the other, and find out which is the best strategy for you. Our panel includes Laura Crane of bKL Architecture who recently completed ARE 4.0, Sarah Hitchcock of Gensler who is taking the 5-Exam Plan, and Greg Kristo of Stantec who is taking the new version of the exam - ARE 5.0.

A networking reception will follow the panel discussion. During the reception, Marc Teer, AIA, founder and president of Black Spectacles, will receive the John Welborn Root Award from AIA Illinois, presented to an architect licensed less than ten years.
