YAF Tour & Social: Gensler & Chicago Athletic Association Hotel
Gensler, 11 East Madison, Suite 300, Chicago IL
Gensler is a global architecture, design, and planning firm with 46 locations and more than 5,000 professionals networked across Asia, Europe, Australia, the Middle East and the Americas. Founded in 1965, the firm serves more than 3,500 active clients in virtually every industry. Gensler currently ranks #1 in many of the annual A+D charts, and was recently named by Glassdoor to be a Top 50 place to work in the United States, as well as one of 9 companies they are excited about in 2017 alongside Dropbox, Tesla, and Slack.
Gensler's Chicago office has been open since 1999. After a decade in the Inland Steel Building, the firm moved to occupy a full floor in Louis Sullivan's Carson Pirie Scott Building on State Street. Their restoration of the landmark building pays particular attention to a number of celebrated vintage details. The open work plan – with a ratio of 1:1 assigned seats to collaborative seats -- builds a connection between disciplines and talent. Never more than half a row away from a collaboration table, employees have ample space to focus, collaborate, learn and socialize.

After the tour we'll head to grab a drink at the Game Room on the second floor of the historically preserved Chicago Athletic Association Hotel, located at 12 South Michigan Avenue. If you can't make the tour, meet us in the Game Room around 7:30pm.
The AIA Chicago Young Architects Forum (YAF) is an informal group of architects, design professionals and students who are interested in furthering the discussion of design, professional development, community, and collaboration. If you are a "young" (licensed 10 years or fewer) architect, join us for intriguing educational & social events!
