Advocacy Training with AIA Illinois
AIA Chicago, 35 East Wacker Drive, Suite 250, Chicago
Government advocacy is essential to cultivating a better future for architects and for the earth.
Learn how to communicate effectively in face-to-face meetings with elected officials and their staff members by joining us for a lively interactive training session that will equip participants with skills and strategies to use when speaking with aldermen, state representatives, and other government leaders about topics of interest and importance to architects. This program is great preparation for the March 24 Illinois Prairie Grassroots Legislative Lobbying Day in Springfield and for upcoming local Chicago advocacy initiatives.
Presenters:
- Steve Andersson, former Illinois Representative; Illinois Human Rights Commission; At-Large Director, AIA Illinois Board of Directors
- Stacey Pfingsten, Executive Vice President, AIA Illinois
All AIA members are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
Please bring the names and district numbers of your Illinois state Senator and Representative, and if you live in Chicago, the name and ward number of your alderman. Click here to get that information, courtesy of the League of Women Voters.
If you are driving to AIA Chicago: we can offer a discounted rate of $19 at the InterPark Theater District Self Park on the southeast corner of Dearborn and Lake streets (181 North Dearborn Street).
