AIA Contract Documents 2017 Release: Important Revisions and New Exhibits

IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, 565 West Adams Street, first-floor auditorium

Architects, contractors, attorneys, and other in the AEC industry are invited to AIA Contract Documents 2017 Release: Explore Revised General Conditions, Owner-Architect and Owner-Contractor Agreements. Every ten years, AIA revises its major documents, and the 2017 revised documents were released in April 2017. Join AIA staff attorneys Kenneth Cobleigh, Esq., and Susan Van Bell, Esq., and Hasti Hejazi, director of Global Innovation Education for AIA, to explore these important revisions and how they will impact project team members, owners and building occupants. They will give attendees an insight into the AIA’s revision process and the key changes for 2017. Attendees will understand how the revisions will impact their practice and examine how the new Sustainable Projects Exhibit can be used to provide a positive outcome on the health, safety and welfare of building occupants. Attendees will see a live demonstration of the AIA Contract Documents online platform, ACD5*, to discover the key features that make drafting, reviewing, and sharing contracts faster and simpler than ever before.

Ken serves as Managing Director and Counsel, AIA Contract Documents, at the American Institute of Architects. He works with a team of lawyers, specialists and support staff, and the AIA Documents Committee in developing and publishing AIA Contract Documents, and in providing support services to contract document users. Susan Van Bell is Senior Director and Counsel for AIA Contract Documents at AIA.
