BIMobject® BIMscript® Hackathon
AIA Chicago, 35 East Wacker Drive, #250
Join BIMobject for a BIMscript® Hackathon and learn how to become an expert in creating Building Information Modeling (BIM) objects with our BIMscript® & LENA solution for Rhino. Our BIMscript® Hackathon is a free, two-day event that is taught by our core developers and offers content developers and mechanical CAD internal department team members a unique opportunity to learn from the masters.
BIMscript® & LENA is free software that opens a new world of opportunities to users and manufacturers who wish to develop their own content for most BIM platforms, using a single script. Smaller developers may also develop content rich multi-format parameters in multiple languages, with a single Rhino and LENA license.
On Day 1, participants will learn how to use BIMscript® & LENA for Rhino to create BIM files for ArchiCAD, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, IFC, and 3DStudio. Check out scenes from Day 1 of our 2015 Hackathon in Budapest, Hungary!
At the end of the hackathon, participants will receive accreditation to use BIMscript® & LENA. As an accredited BIMscript® & LENA professional, you will:
• Use BIMscript® & LENA in real projects with real BIMobject clients and projects (brand owners pay publication fee to be published in the BIMobject Cloud)
• Upon request, receive a free hidden Project Cloud to create a content catalog, with limited access, for non-profit purposes, demonstration, testing and training
• Receive invitations to future events, as well as on-going support and training
• Exchange knowledge and ideas for the future with other accredited professionals
• Join our Forum and Wiki
"Future Features" (smart connectors) Workshop
On Day 2, among other activities, we will present our "Future Features" workshop to demonstrate and discuss our future innovations within BIMscript, called “smart connectors”. The workshop will include scripting capabilities for MEP connectors, laser positioning holes for stations, and relationships between objects and subcomponents.
How to register?
Participation is free, and seating is limited. As a result, interested participants must register online and include a brief statement as to why BIMobject should select you to participate. If several employees of the same company wish to participate, each person must complete a separate entry. Also, be sure to specify if you would like to attend our "Future Features" workshop held on Day 2. To receive accreditation, all participants must attend and complete the hackathon session and be prepared to present your work.
Software /Hardware Requirements
A laptop computer with Windows installed. If selected, participants will receive an email with instructions and a complete list of recommended programs and support software for installation.
