CANstruction awards reception
Merchandise Mart lobby
Canstruction Chicago celebrates the 8th annual design and build competition to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Twenty participating teams from local architecture, engineering design and construction firms use their skills to create incredible structures using canned goods. At the close of the exhibit, all canned goods will be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Last year’s event brought in nearly 98,000 pounds of shelf stable food for the Food Depository’s network of 650 soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and programs throughout Cook County.
Canstruction Chicago is the Food Depository’s largest one-day food drive, helping to put food on the table for the 797,000 men, women, and children served each year.
