The Design Excellence Awards honor outstanding work from Chicago architecture firms for projects throughout the world in the following categories:
- DISTINGUISHED BUILDING AWARD
- INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AWARD
- DIVINE DETAIL AWARD
- UNBUILT FORWARD AWARD

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will I get a ticket in the mail?
No - seating cards will be held for pick up during Designight’s cocktail hour. The cocktail hour will begin at 5:30pm in the Lakeview Terrace. Dinner and the awards presentation will begin at 7:00pm in the Aon Grand Ballroom.
Is there a dress code?
Suggested dress code is 'Business Formal'. You can see photos of last year’s sold-out crowd here and here.
Is there valet?
There is no valet or discounted parking rate available. Uber/Lyft/Taxis should travel down the north side of Navy Pier to drop off and pick up at Entrance 2. Guests arriving by car should park at Navy Pier's East Garage. MAP
Is there a coat check?
Yes, a complimentary coat check is available in the Lakeview Terrace.
