Energy Code Impacts on the Design Process
AIA Chicago, 35 East Wacker Drive, #250
The ever-evolving energy codes require designers to stay on top of each new iteration and understand the impact early design decisions have on all aspects of a project. Allison McSherry from Klein & Hoffman will provide an overview of the major design drivers within the 2015 Illinois Energy Conservation Code and ASHRAE 90.1-2013 energy codes. Key differences between the two codes and the potential impact mechanical and electrical requirements have on the overall design process will be the primary focus.
