Exploring the Intersection of Arts and City Infrastructure - FULL!

AIA Chicago, 35 East Wacker Drive, Suite 250; then Chicago Riverwalk tour

This event is now full, and a waiting list has been started.

From parades to permanent art installations, this session will explore how urban infrastructure can serve as the canvas for public art that ranges from moments of simple joy, to energizing a community, welcoming outsiders, and create a lasting investment. Join us at 3pm for a discussion with Kalindi Parikh, director of planning, Chicago Loop Alliance; Erin Harkey, Deputy Commissioner, Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events; and Paola Aguirre Serrano, Assoc. AIA, founder of Borderless, a Chicago-based urban design studio. At 4:30pm, we will move from the office to a tour along the Chicago Riverwalk.
