Innovative Glass at St. Regis Chicago

Online

The podium “Cube” of Studio Gang’s St. Regis Chicago (formerly Vista Tower) on the Chicago River is a prominent and defining part of the building aesthetic. To achieve innovative architecture at this level, a significant amount of design planning, engineering analysis, and installation expertise is required. The purpose of this course is to understand the journey of the Vista Cube from its early design phases through installation.

Speaker: Franz Safford, President and CEO of Innovation Glass LLC and also CEO and Facade Engineer at VS1 Inc. (An Innovation Glass company), brings a unique level of expertise to the table in the implementation of innovative building solutions based on a deep understanding of metals, glass, structural engineering, design, production, installation, management, and product development garnered over 40 years in the glass curtain wall industry. Since then, his company’s core invention, VS1, has been patented and implemented in over 100 projects worldwide.
