As part of ADA 25 Chicago, Landmarks Illinois and AIA Chicago will present a panel of three architects  on the successes and challenges of adding and improving accessibility in the rehabilitation of historic buildings.

Speakers:

Frank Heitzman, AIA, Heitzman Architects (Oak Park)    Accessibility at Historic Naper Settlement in Naperville, Unity Temple and Pleasant Home in Oak Park.

Ellen Stoner, AIA, AltusWorks, Inc. (Chicago)     Multi-family properties in Kansas City, MO and Chicago; Chicago Public School’s ADA program and Schubert Elementary School; Quadrangle Club at University of Chicago.

Darius Bryjka, Assoc. AIA, Illinois Historic Preservation Agency (Springfield)     Federal Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation; successful and less successful examples of accessibility enhancements.

Jack Catlin, FAIA, LCM Architects (Chicago), moderator. Jack is a member of the steering committee for ADA 25 Chicago.
