Making Soulful Places: Selected Projects by Heatherwick Studio
Chicago Architecture Foundation Lecture Hall, 224 South Michigan Ave, Ground Floor
Driven by the motivation to design soulful and interesting places to celebrate the complexities of the real world, Heatherwick Studio has many strikingly inventive works to its name. Join us for a presentation with architect Mat Cash, Group Leader at the internationally renowned firm.
Mat’s talk—sponsored by Related Midwest—will key in on several of the studio’s recent and notable projects, including new headquarters for Google in California and London (in collaboration with BIG); a major museum for contemporary art in Cape Town that makes use of a disused grain silo; and Pier55, a new park and performance space on Manhattan’s Lower West Side.
