Mitigating Window Condensation: Analysis, Simulations, and Instrumentation

135 South LaSalle Street, 43rd Floor (Rooms A, B & C)

As the winter and cooler temperatures approach, window condensation becomes a concern to many. This presentation will discuss cold weather concerns at windows and building enclosure components, along with various methods of analysis, including simulations and instrumentation. The importance of monitoring and calibration of simulations, as well as the impact of microclimates with thermal evaluations will also be discussed. Investigation procedures and the options for repairs to address these problems will also be presented through case study and examples.
