Volunteer for Rebuilding Together
Chicago Heights, IL
Interested in volunteering for National Rebuilding Together Day on Saturday, April 27? National Rebuilding Together Day is an annual event in which volunteers work together to renovate homes belonging to elderly, disabled, and low-income homeowners in order to make them warm, safe, dry. We improve accessibility, and provide improvements that will leave the home a healthier, brighter, more pleasant place to live.
Join AIA Chicago and Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago for a day of home repairs in Chicago Heights, Illinois. This year, AIA Chicago will be updating the home of Mr. Armstrong, a 54-year-old Navy veteran. Volunteers will patch and paint walls, repair doors, replace and repair kitchen cabinets, reseal doors and windows, remove clutter, and more. No skills needed. Bring work gloves and tools if you have them.
Contact Allison Garwood Freedland for more information or to volunteer. The address of Mr. Armstrong's home will be provided later, and bus transportation from a designated location will be available as well.
AIA members may self-report up to 2 professional community service hours per year towards their continuing education requirements.
