Selling A&E Services in Brazil: Opportunities & Best Practices – Chicago

Carolina Epifanio of the U.S. Commercial Service - Rio de Janeiro office will hold a Roundtable Discussion with Chicago-area A&E firms currently active in or interested in pursuing business in Brazil. She will brief attendees on the latest Olympics news, the U.S. Pavilion being planned for the upcoming Greenbuilding Brazil Expo, and other opportunities, as well as offering best practices advice for success in the market.
The U.S. Commercial Service is an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, which assists and advocates for U.S. businesses in international markets to foster U.S. economic prosperity. Utilizing its network of trade promotion and policy professionals located in over 70 countries and 100 U.S. locations, the U.S. Commercial Service promotes and facilitates U.S. exports, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises, and advances U.S. commercial interests overseas.
Speaker: Carolina Lamenza Epifanio is an Assistant for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Commercial Service, at the U.S. Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as from 2011. Along with Commercial Specialist Patrick Levy, she oversees the U.S. Commercial Service Brazil Construction/Architectural/Engineering services, providing market analysis and business consulting in such industry sectors and support to U.S. Trade Missions to Brazil.
She also develops trade promotion activities and prepares reports, researches and analysis on the local economy, commercial and industrial environment, specifically related to the Rio 2016™ Games, identifying business opportunities for U.S. companies.
From 2008 to 2011, Ms. Lamenza worked for the US Patent and Trademark Office at the U.S. Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro and before that, she worked for the hospitality sector at renowned hotels in Rio de Janeiro, such as Caesar Park and Copacabana Palace.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Ms. Lamenza is a graduate of Hospitality and Business Management and has a Marketing degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro´s Graduate School of Business (Coppead). She is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish and is passionate for travel.
