SPG goes to CAB: program + social

Chicago Cultural Center, 78 East Washington Street or 79 East Randolph Street, Claudia Cassidy Theater, 2nd floor

Join the Small Practitioners Group (SPG) for a Chicago Architecture Biennial evening.

First we will go to the Chicago Cultural Center for “Polis Station,” a presentation by Jeanne Gang, FAIA, and others on Studio Gang’s research and reimagining of the police station, exhibited at the Chicago Architecture Biennial as “Polis Station” on the first floor of the Cultural Center. Jeanne has convened a panel of community leaders, policing strategists, developers, and architects in a discussion of how design could help build trust between citizens and police.

After the talk, we’ll walk two blocks to Mr. Brown’s Lounge on East Wacker Place between Michigan Avenue and Wabash Avenue for refreshments and socializing. (We’ll each pay our own expenses.)

The theater is likely to fill up, so don't delay in reserving your ticket! Click here to register. *

Panelists: Jeanne Gang, FAIA, Studio Gang Architects; Ghian Foreman, executive director, Greater Southwest Development Corporation; V. Mitch McEwen, partner at A(n) Office and principal of McEwen Studio; Scott Plank, founder and CEO, War Horse LLC; Felicia Davis, executive director, Public Building Commission of Chicago.

Moderator: Gia Biagi, Studio Gang Architects

* As of Nov. 16, there are no tickets remaining for the program, but a wait list has been started. Even if you can't attend the program, join the SPG at Mr. Brown's Lounge.
