As employee integration and connection are becoming more important to today’s companies, our clients are asking for open stairs in their multi-floor projects in Chicago’s high-rise office buildings. No longer are these stairs just simple structures for vertical movement: they are dynamic place-making pieces of sculpture that are also performing other duties: lounge, auditorium, etc. Hear from some talented senior project architects about their recent stair solutions. They will be joined by a structural engineer and code consultant who will bring practical knowledge and some do’s and don’ts. Understand the breadth of stair design solutions and be inspired by clever solutions that are cost effective and code compliant. Compare and contrast different solutions to integrating vertical circulation for large organizations in tall buildings.
