The Pocket Guide to Chicago Architecture - Lecture and Exhibition

Glessner House Museum is delighted to welcome Judith Paine McBrien and John DeSalvo, AIA, the author and illustrator respectively of The Pocket Guide to Chicago Architecture. The event will begin with a reception and complimentary tours of the house at 6:00pm, followed by a talk at 7:00pm. McBrien and DeSalvo will discuss their inspiration and process of creating the guide book series. The exhibition, which will be open from 6:00 until 9:00pm, will focus on renderings of Glessner House and other Chicago landmarks from De Salvo's IIT rendering course plus his original illustrations for The Pocket Guide. Judith Paine McBrien is director of the Archimedia Workshop; her projects include the 2010 PBS documentary Make No Little Plans: Daniel Burnham and the American City. John DeSalvo, AIA, is an illustrator, studio associate professor at the College of Architecture, IIT, and the founder of JDD Architects in Chicago.

Admission is free, but reservations are requested.

RESERVATIONS

The exhibit will be available for viewing during regular public tours from Wednesday, November 15 through Sunday, November 19.
