   Please join APTI, APT WGLC, and The Cliff Dwellers in welcoming Donald Friedman, PE, co-founder of Old Structures Engineering (NYC), to present his recent book, The Structure of Skyscrapers in America, 1871-1900 Their History and Preservation, published by the Association for Preservation Technology International. Don will discuss the development of the structure of skyscrapers at the end of the nineteenth century, the historic context for the emergence of this new building type, and explain the technical aspects of construction. Preservation problems are discussed extensively. This definitive book is essential for anyone who is interested in early skyscrapers and especially for those professionals who work on them.
