Tour & Social: Vladimir Radutny Architects & Joy District

Vladimir Radutny Architects, 116 West Illinois Street, #4W (take elevator to 4th floor)

Since 2008, the architecture + design practice of Vladimir Radutny Architects has been focusing on creating solutions that challenge the conventional interpretations of function, space, and material use. VRA's approach is ideas-driven, rigorously testing designs via the investigative process of iterative drawing and physically making “stuff”. In this search for the appropriate design resolution, the found meaning results in work that moves beyond just an aesthetic response, embodying the poetry of the creative process. With the acute understanding of clients’ goals and the strategic planning process, VRA is able to conceive a meaningful and transparent relationship as the basis from which the final project grows. VRA has been recognized both nationally and abroad, published and exhibited widely. The 5-person firm does not shy away from work no matter the size, scope, place or type.

Vladimir Radutny was the 2016 recipient of AIA Chicago's Dubin Young Architect Award which recognizes excellence in ability and exceptional contributions by Chicago area architects between the ages of twenty-five and thirty-nine.

After the tour, we will be heading to Joy District, located at 112 West Hubbard Street, where a space near the bar will be reserved for our group. If you can't make the tour, feel free to join us at the bar around 7:30pm.
