Open House: The Tiny Home is Back!

4631 South Marshfield Avenue (one block west of Ashland Avenue), Chicago

Did you miss the Tiny Home during its first appearance in April? Now you have another chance to see what everyone was talking about.

The Tiny Homes Competition was an international design competition launched in November 2015 which solicited speculative design proposals that would house Chicago’s youth experiencing homelessness in tiny homes. More than 250 submissions were received. It was organized by AIA Chicago, AIA Chicago Foundation, Landon Bone Baker Architects, Windy City Times, and Pride Action Tank. The competition was funded by the Alphawood Foundation. Price Construction built the model home which stood on the UIC campus during the Tiny Home Summit: New Solutions for Youth Homelessness on April 18-19, 2016.

The design team that won the competition will be at the open house: Terry Howell, AIA (Antunovich Associates), Lon Stousland (Antunovich Associates), and Marty Sandberg, AIA (Via Chicago Architects).

If you drive, park for free in the lot next to the tiny home.
