Transforming Design Performance and Outcomes with Generative Space
HKS, 125 South Clark Street, 11th Floor, Chicago
You are invited to a generative space workshop with practical take-aways, presented by Dr. Wayne Ruga, FAIA, FIIDA, Hon. FASID, founder and president of The CARITAS Project.
All commercial design projects - including those for health and healthcare - are created in service of an organizational aspiration. Translating this aspiration into a place that enables and supports the aspiration, continuously and increasingly, is the business imperative that a client is seeking. Generative Space is an innovative and practical method that aligns design with these aspirations for unprecedented performance and outcomes. Since 2003, when Dr. Ruga defined and developed Generative Space as a design method, he has worked with individuals and organizations around the world to teach this method and document the outcomes. In addition, the annual Generative Space Award spotlights and documents those exemplary projects that are harnessing this method to improve their performance. In this workshop, Dr. Ruga will feature those practical elements of the Generative Space method that will enable participants to approach their designs with new eyes and understandings to enable more advanced and effective design performance.
Learning Outcomes:
- New understandings of design, environments, and practice;
- New approaches to improving design performance;
- How to create sustained improvements; and
- How to become a more effective design leader.
A light dinner will be provided. Please register by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 11.
