Do you know how UL can assist you in your work? Michael Hannan, AIA, will offer an overview of UL services and resources for building design professionals. Learn about UL safety standards; locating listed fire-resistive, construction-rated assemblies using ProductSpec, Architect Services and UL Anytime Chat; and the Online Certifications Directory. Mike’s talk will include information on UL “engineering judgments” for existing construction and resources on archaic materials which can help determine fire resistance in existing structures. He will also explain UL product investigation, listing and labeling requirements; anti-counterfeiting programs; and market surveillance program; and ULtimate e-mail and newsletters.

Speaker: Mike Hannan, AIA, is the Architectural Services Program Manager in the UL Codes and Advisory Services Department. He coordinates UL’s outreach and technical support efforts that are designed to help architects and designers achieve safe, code compliant installations. Prior to joining UL, Mike owned an architectural firm and has practiced in the Chicago metropolitan area for 30 years. His areas of expertise are multi-family, single family and commercial projects
