Virtual Prairie Grassroots Series: Clean Energy Jobs Act (CEJA)
Online
In the next 7 weeks, Illinois lawmakers will consider a bold new comprehensive energy policy for Illinois that will have huge impacts on energy efficiency in buildings and ramp up renewable energy development. If passed this spring, it will put Illinois on the path to 100% renewable energy by 2050, cut carbon from the power sector by 2030, and create jobs and economic opportunity for every part of Illinois.
Leaders of the Illinois General Assembly and the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition (ICJC) have reintroduced the Clean Energy Jobs Act (CEJA) with a pledge to pass the comprehensive legislation in the General Assembly by May 2021. Stacey Pfingsten, Executive Vice President, AIA Illinois, and Brian Imus, Executive Director, Illinois Green Alliance, will introduce us to sections of the bill that pertain to energy efficiency in buildings.
Panel:
- Anne McKibbin, Policy Director at Elevate
- Isaac Elnecave, Certification Staff at Passive House Institute US
- Tucker Barry, Communications Director at Illinois Environmental Council (IEC)
Attend the second session in our Virtual Prairie Grassroots series to learn what you can do to make sure this passes in the next several weeks.
